Worry no more, because Seoul has implemented a new transfer policy. If you re-board the subway within 10 minutes of exiting at the same station and line, you will not be charged the basic fare. However, be careful, because if you re-board after more than 10 minutes, the basic fare of 1,250 KRW will be charged.
This policy is applicable in all lines operated by Seoul Metro and Seoul Metro Line 9 Corporation. It applies to pre- and post-paid cards, excluding single-use and regular tickets.
The application period is from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. The effectiveness of this policy will be observed during this period and will be formally introduced afterwards.
